The Philippine ID system, PhilSys, is registered by 75.8 million Filipinos.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has expressed its desire to rapidly set up a digital ID program in collaboration with the private sector, to facilitate transactions between businesses and government entities.

CitizenWatch Philippines, an organization that advocates for consumer rights, has called on the Philippine government and businesses to hasten the implementation of the Philippine National ID. They believe it will have a positive effect on the public and private sectors, as it will enable digital transformation.

In 2018, the Philippine Identification System Act was passed with the goal of providing a single, national identification system.

The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) app is important to verify a person's identity when making public or private transactions, encouraging business and e-commerce, fighting against fraud, and enabling citizens to participate in their digital economy and engage with the government.

During a Private Sector Advisory Council on Digital Infrastructure held in Malacañang, Philippine President Marcos Jr. issued a directive to speed up the digitalization of the National Identification (ID) system.

The PSA began a tactic for issuance which included the development of a website for registered individuals to acquire a PDF version of their ePhillD onto a smartphone.

Usec. Mapa noted that PhilSys is a digital ID system that is tailored to be used digitally - be it in the form of a card, a printout, or a PDF file. This will enable the government to offer efficient services to Filipinos and consequently bring the nation closer to achieving the goal of a modernized Philippines.

Incorporating digital IDs into a digital wallet with other app services, like ePrescription, banking, driver's licenses and government documents, is a viable option.

It is essential that all students have access to educational materials that are current and up to date. To this end, educational resources must be regularly revised and updated to ensure that learners are provided with the most up-to-date information. To guarantee this, educational institutions must commit to making sure that their materials are timely and accurate.

At 29 years old, my favorite compliment is being told that I look like my mom. Seeing myself in her image, like this daughter up top, makes me so proud of how far I’ve come, and so thankful for where I come from.
